Chelsea Market has a variety of venues to check out. If you like Thai, they've got it; if cupcakes are your weakness, they've got them too.
On this particular night, we chose to have crêpes at Bar Suzette. Now, like those who know me pretty well, I am not a fan of crêpes.
I guess that's because I never felt full after eating them and to me that is DANGEROUS. I did not want to keep eating more and more of something until I am finally satisfied... No thank you.
So, again tonight I was not interested in trying crêpes for dinners... But, I caved in. And, I am really glad I did... The photo above is a Nutella & Strawberry crêpe that my friend had for dessert.
Another friend ordered the Chicken Du Jour.
The Hoisen Duck was the most popular choice.
I chose the Heirloom Squash, Basil & Goat Cheese, which was surprisingly filling... and as the French say Très Bien.

Now tell me, which of the four crêpes would you chose? Let me know which one looks more appealing to you.
Bonne Nuit
Thanks for your comment on my blog! :)
ReplyDeleteYour pictures are so interesting.
I love foreign country and culture, so I followed you.
I'd like to eat the Heirloom Squash, Basil & Goat Cheese which you chose. How does Goat Cheese taste? <3
I like the look of the Duck !
ReplyDeleteIt looks soooooooooo good! How I miss crepes from home!
ReplyDeleteThe one which looks the best is definitely the chocolate/nutella & strawberry. Might go for some at the week-end now!
In brittany the best choice would be salmon&cream or Tartiflette and for dessert "Butterscoth with cristal salt".......
Nutella and strawberry for sure! Looks delicious :)
ReplyDeletei love those crepes! :)
ReplyDeleteYour pictures are awesome!! All of the crepes look AMAZING, but I would definitely have gone with yours and then followed with the strawberry nutella for sure!
ReplyDeleteOh the strawberries look so good! All the crepes sounded great, but I would pick the desert every time.
ReplyDeleteThanks for commenting on my blog. I learned alot more about frittata vs omelette vs Spanish tortilla.
ReplyDeleteI think I would like a 2nd helping of the desert crepe please :)
I LOVE your blog. What a wonderfull look into other worlds. I would personally choose the one you picked. They all had wonderfull color and presentation, but not thinking I would enjoy the Chicken one. And I would insist on sharing the dessert one, because it would seem a sin to not try it lol.
ReplyDeleteuhm .... suppose I would have that heirloom goat cheese thing that you ordered as a main dish and have strawberry crêpe as a dessert ... say, order it as a desser for someone else and then help out :-))
ReplyDeletewe had falafel with hummus and salsa for lunch. gonna upload some pictures later on and also recipe for tiramisu. check them out!

ReplyDeletewowwww thats amking me so hungry lol.
ReplyDeleteCrepes are quite possibly, the most delicious food in the world :) I love that your blog is in New York City. I've never been there and maybe through your blog, I'll be able to make a list of all the places I want to go to if and when I make a vacation there. Maybe you could do a list of hotels that are bed bug free...we've been seeing a lot of news out west that there's a bed bug infestation or something going on there.
ReplyDelete@ Getsomeswag: Yeah, if I had time, I would go back this weekend and have some more :)
ReplyDelete@Michael Offutt: NYC is unlike any other place in the world. So much to do and see. Yeah, the bed bug thing is really gross :p Off hand I don't know where would be the best places stay. Hopefully, by the time you plan to come, the bed bug problem will be resolved...
I can already tell I am going to like this! You made my stomach growl. My wife and I have been meaning to visit NYC for the past couple of years. Hope to make it up soon.
ReplyDeleteBTW, I love the way you document everything with the photos. Good work!

@C.M. :Thanks for your comment! You two have to make it out here when you can, but come either in the fall or spring. It is way too muggy in the summer and way too cold in the winter. Oh, and I am so glad you like my photos; I just got my camera and I am learning so much :)
ReplyDelete@Lolita: Yes! I reached my goal; to make the readers hungry!!
Wow! The crepes look delicious!
ReplyDeleteEdmond
They all look tasty, but I think the duck captured my attention.
ReplyDeleteI've never had Nutella. Am I missing something?
@ Edmond: we have got to go there! Let's get a group together :)
ReplyDelete@ Lindalou: I am not crazy about Nutella; for me it is too sweet... I think it is hazelnut and chocolate together. If you like sweet than definitely try it.

Choco for sure. x hivennn
ReplyDelete@ Jazzy E (hivennn): Good choice ;)
ReplyDeletehmmm yummie that looks delicious x
ReplyDelete@ Fashion Mom: They were :)
ReplyDeleteWell, since I had a very naughty dessert crêpe after dinner last night (and after the requisite 8pm as the superstition/tradition goes for Candlemas), I would choose one of the savory selections (basil and goat cheese!)
ReplyDeleteOf all the French pastries I have made, and there are many, this is by far the easiest and one that I have been making for twenty years. It is interesting to me that no matter what the pastry, the French require the choux or the batter, whatever, to "rest." My daughter and I think that it is so they can enjoy a bit of Champagne before tackling the remainder of the baking - hah! Good plan
Bises,
