Cuisines: tasting the Canary Islands

In my final post on the Canary Islands (sniffle, sniffle), I will be showcasing the various foods that my friends and I ate during our vacation. Some of the dishes are from the Islands while others are eaten all over Spain. Hope you enjoy the photos :)

 1. Iberian Ham

 2. Gofio: Roasted grain

 3. Red and White Mojo: The first sauce is made with roasted red pepper and the second without and with cream.

 4. Octopus Salad

5. Goat Cheese

 6. Garbanzos

 7. Grilled Cheese with Mojo

 8. Calamari

 9. Boiled potatoes

 10. Ribs

 11. Vanilla cake with chocolate

 12. Spanish Tortilla: Egg omelette with potatoes.

 13. El Barraquito: My favorite! This is a coffee with condensed milk

Have you had any of these dishes? Which ones?

If you had to choose, which would you try?

  25. Spanish food is the best!
you have to taste the galician octopus, is made with spicy and oil, is better than in a salad. Is my favourite food.
    Kisses!

  37. I visited Lanzarote and Fuerteventura in June with my better half :) That was a best holiday trip ever; 12 days of beautiful beaches, great sights, motor-bike riding, cruising with a rented WW, learning to windsurf and a lot more.. We are allready planing to visit Tenerife in October :)

    P.S.: Loved your Fuerteventura photos.

  38. I give up! I've been reading for an hour and this post has put my stomach in an uproar! I'm going to have to stop for dinner. But I'm signing up to follow so I can find my way back and read more from the past and whatever you write in the future, I like your style!

And yeah, I think I've tasted most of those... but then again I live in Spain so no surprise! ;o)
