Fuerteventura: Part 2

On our second day, my friends and I drove to the southwestern tip of Fuerteventura to a place called Cofete.

We drove for about an hour through a dirt road with no one around.

These are the photos of our drive.

When we turned the corner and saw the beach, this is what we saw.

When we first saw it, all we could say was "WOW"...

We could not take enough pictures of this view..

In the distance, you can see more mountains.

We kept driving down to the beach which took about another 30 minutes.

This is Villa Winter. It was built by Gustav Winter in 1946

We thought of visiting it, but the beach beckoned us...

These moments on this beach are probably one of the most memorable moments of my life. It was serene and breathtakingly beautiful. Looking at these photos again, reminds me of happy and peaceful I felt

Has any place made such an impact on you?

  10. Unbelievable! I remember feeling this kind of peace and calm when I visited the Aran Islands near Galway in Ireland. Same kind of deserted space and an amazing view of the cliffs and the sea. Lying down on the ground we could watch the sea beating the rocks.
You were right to change your plans!

  23. Wow, I love the "close-up" pictures of the waves, and the second to last picture. The lighting is beautiful.
I once went to Teneriffa on vacation and when we went on a hike, I picked up a rock. It wasnt anything special, I just liked the shape. I still have it somewhere, I think...

  39. WOW is right!

Funny you should ask, but certain beaches and mountains have made me feel exactly like that! A couple in Tasmania, New Zealand and the Canadian Rocky Mountains. The world just melted away and only the awesome beauty was left.
