Photography 101

Can you believe October is almost over?? For me, Autumn has been flying by and I can see winter slowly approaching... There is even talk of snow hitting us here in the state of New York! I hope it doesn't affect the beautiful foliage we have been having this fall....
Well, within my already very busy life, I decided to sign up for a photography course here in Manhattan. At first, I was a little sketchy about signing up for the class because my schedule is already jam packed. Yet, I feel it is so easy to make excuses on why I shouldn't take it. I don't want to look back on my life and regret not taking advantage of the opportunity to learn more photography.
Last week, I had my first class. With my SLR camera in tow, I learned about exposures, shutter speed, apertures  and more. In just my first class, I felt I learned so much about photography. One thing that surprised me thought was the amount of math that is entailed in photography. Fortunately, mathematics is one of my strong points; I had no problem picking up on the number patterns ;)
Well gang, hopefully soon, I will be posting "my homework" shots from my Photography course here on Lady on a Roof.
See you in November!!

  1. Oh yes, time is flying!

And yes October is nearly gone, unbelievable really......
Glad you started the course, sometime we have to jump on the opportunity and don't think too much. Looking forward seeing some of your photos here.
In the meantime enjoy the last days of this beautiful month!!

  5. How interesting to read about your Photography course, I took one a few years ago and it was quite interesting, though it was about analogic cameras and now what we all already have is digital cameras, but the most interesting for me was the photographical routes we had to practise our classes, they were quite fun! Happy Halloween, by the way!!

  6. congrats on your class. sounds like fun. I would like to take one as well but I want a new camera first. thanks so much for visiting my blog and for your lovely comment.
