With a long layover in Frankfurt, Germany, I took advantage of the moment and met up with a friend who is from there. We took the time to catch up and reminisce about our time in London last summer. Here are some photos around Frankfurt in the few hours we were there.
I loved taking photos of the German architecture. I could not get enough of it.
These photos are from the central part of Frankfurt.
My favorite photo of Frankfurt.
The day was rainy so we decided to order some soups; potato leek soup and goulash.
Both soups were delicious. Yet, my favorite was the dessert. The apple strudle was a delightful way to end the meal...
Stay tuned for photos of my trip to Thailand which is where I am now. Happy July!!
beautiful photos!! I really love the buildings there..ah I LOVE apple strudel. That one looks very delicious :D
ReplyDeleteIt was so delicious.. Talking about it makes me want another bite :D
DeleteAdorable inspirations. I visited Bavaria, southern Germany. Nature is lush, castles, a beautiful setting for our holiday. Thanks for these suggestions.Bye.
ReplyDeleteOh, I would love to go to southern Germany and check it out... I love history and the thought of seeing castles and such sounds truly romantic.
DeleteThis is where my precious hubby was born. We took a long trip a few years ago and toured in our own car..driving where we wanted. Cities, villages, countryside, castles, pubs...it was fantastic. Beautiful. I envy you..thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteThat's so cool that your husband was born there. I really wish I was able to stay in Germany longer... I know I would have loved it....
DeleteI love layover, it's the chance to discover a new city "for free"... or almost!

Great photos! The only thing I recognised from my own short visit to Frankfurt (summer 2002) was the Plaza that was rebuilt after being bombed out in WW2... I remember my friend pointing out the amazing diversity of architecture (from the Middle Ages or Renaissance on to the 20th century!)!
ReplyDeleteI now have friends living nearby in Mainz (I was there in May, need to right that post... as soon as I finish with Greece). They'll be there for at least 6 years, so hopefully I'll have a few opportunites to be back up there exploring the region. :o)
